I didn't know about the UNICEF logo David. I have noticed a lot of team sponsorship is from gambling companies (I even believe one company is sponsoring two teams in the Premiership), to my mind, the personification of capitalist greed. Football is regularly cited as an example of profligacy and excess. How nice it would be if some English clubs either abandoned a sponsor or gave the space to a charity. It would go some way to redress the negative image of the Premiership's obscene financial dealings.

David, this is a wonderful piece of media with such a fantastic feel good factor about it. Some would have us believe that the world is a grey nasty violent place, films like this reinforce my belief that it’s actually a fantastic place with unlimited possibilities.

reading this has made my day

Yes Gareth - we will see whether he and his team are able to facilitate the big changes that are needed. One of his challenges will be to manage the structures and frameworks that will support the kinds of changes he is talking about. This also means working on the culture that exists in the political/social 'ecosystems' in which he will need to work.

The Integral Leadership model that I use with clients, and that we build the Yorkshire Leadership programme around is vital in these kinds of large-scale change.

I have watched this election race for almost 12 month and Barack Obama has impressed me greatly, with his massive energy that just flows out of him. He does show a changing world and how the issues with color or any challenge can be washed away when action, focus, purpose and energy come onto the scene.
I really do hope he does some of the things he has mentioned such as talking to countries and leaders we are told are enemies comes off, I believe he could bring about peace using talk and reason and that would really be change worth talking about.

If you have missed Amazon - I think it is still showing on BBC3 (?). The book that goeas with the series is also very revealing of the process and material you don't see in the TV series itself.

Great observation Gareth - healthy expression of emotion is good, provided it is then let go of and "got over". Express it - move on. And.....make sure you find completion with the other person(s) involved.

When I first read this post I thought that a family that shouted was a strange thing and how could this make your family unit more solid. And as my peaceful calm family never shouted at all and we got on really well that the post was not accurate.
I spent the following days taking note of how my family ACTUALLY interacted and we shout a lot!. In fact the kids are always shouting (or more accurately screaming) at each other and the wife and I both shout at them.
The simple fact is I never thought we shouted and that’s because its no big deal and I don’t recognise it happening because it’s never remembered after the event. A family should be able to express any emotion be it joy, anger or pain and the greatest thing about strong family is that we can in a safe environment.
What this post has done is help me to recognise that we need to appreciate and spend more time with our loved ones; they truly are a great gift
